PETALING JAYA: Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah hopes that the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha will be celebrated in a moderate manner with everyone adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP).

In a Facebook post by the Selangor Royal Office, Sultan Sharifuddin hoped that everyone would stay at home instead of going back to their hometowns to prevent uncontrolled transmission of Covid-19.

He also advised the Muslims in the country to continue to pray that everyone is protected from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Selangor Ruler also took the chance to express his sadness as the celebration should have been celebrated with the spirit of unity and togetherness from the ummah (community), but instead is celebrated in a limited and vigilant manner.

Together with Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, Sultan Shariffudin also took the opportunity to wish "Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha 1442 Hijrah” to all Muslims in Selangor.

He hoped that the "korban" (sacrificial) act for Aidiladha would be carried out in accordance to the SOP set by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais).

In the post issued on Monday (July 19), the Selangor Ruler urged the Muslims to continue to obey Allah and not arguing over petty issues.
