A SEVEN-year-old boy ended up having to go for surgery after he was attacked by a monkey in the backyard of his aunt’s home in Terengganu, Harian Metro reported.Muhammad Umar Ziyad Zaharudin, whose left hand and right leg were injured, was admitted to Kemaman Hospital for surgery due to a deep tear down to the bone.
Prior to the attack, his mother Suzilawati Ismail said that she and her sons had gone over to her sister’s home, which was located next to her house.
“Muhammad Umar then asked for permission to go home earlier. And suddenly, I heard him screaming loudly.
“I ran out of my sister’s house and found a monkey biting his calf. My son was jumping around, trying to release the monkey’s bite while howling in pain,” said Suzilawati, 39.
According to her, the monkey belonged to a villager.
The animal is said to have escaped from its leash.
She said her son was supposed to start his first day of school, but had to miss his classes due to the injuries.
