Sir Richard Branson will make his first flight into Space on Sunday 11th July on his Virgin Galactic spacecraft. The mission, being dubbed "Unity 22", will take Mr Branson and his crew an astonishing 300,000 feet above Earth into Space. But during an interview with Sky News ahead of the historic launch, Mr Branson hinted how he hopes to send the general public into space as soon as possible as he attempts to conquer the space race over billionaire rivals Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
The Virgin founder joked: “I had no idea how tough building space lines are, how tough rocket science is!
“We have had 800 engineers working for 17-years.
“They now have ticked every single box.
“And now we are ready for ourselves to go!"

But in a revealing moment Mr Branson hinted he has much bigger plans for the future of space exploration.
He said: “And we are not so long off from sending people who are watching this programme."
The billionaire went on to share his delight of space travel and his hopes for young people to enjoy it as much as he has.
Mr Branson added: “My dream is that young people can get the same excitement from it on Sunday as when I watched the Moon landing all those years ago.

“To show young kids that one day they will go to space and that anything is possible!
“I have dreamt of building our own space line that we can go into space on."
He concluded how “it has taken a while" but added how come the space launch on Sunday 11th July "the dream will come true.”

The mission marks the twenty-second flight test for VSS Unity, the spaceship, and will be the Company’s fourth crewed spaceflight.
