What takes place in people's personal lives especially when it comes to intimacy isn't something usually shareed so openly.

       However, World Population Review did a little digging into the world's sexual habits including how many people individuals had slept with.

       With their research they managed to found which countries are the most promiscuous in the world, reports Express US.

       The website states: "Most individuals have multiple sexual partners over the course of their lifetimes, with surveys indicating a global average of nine sexual partners during a person's life.

       "The average number of sexual partners can vary significantly from country to country, as cultural norms can have a significant impact on the number of people someone has sex with."

       The site listed the top ten countries with the highest average number of sexual partners, and the country at number one might of not been what people would have expected.

       At number one with a number of 14.5, Turkey took top place, with the average person in Turkey having more than 14 sexual partners during their lifetime. Close behind were Iceland, New Zealand and Australia who had an average of 13 or more.

       Most of the countries which made the top ten happened to be in Europe. The UK was placed at number 21 with an average of more than nine sexual partners.

       Countries at the bottom of the list were China and India with an average of 3.1 and 3 people respectively.

       The website continued: "There are also countries in which people tend to have far fewer sexual partners than the global average. This is typically due to societal or cultural preferences to abstain from premarital sex.

       "In India, where many people follow strict marriage rules, the average person has three sexual partners during the course of his or her life. People who live in Hong Kong, Vietnam, and China tend to have fewer than four sexual partners during the course of their lives."
