A stunning European country has topped a ranking of the nations with the most beautiful houses, boasting stunning architecture that will be familiar to British holidaymakers.
Estate agent comparison site Get Agent published the results of a study in 2023 which used eye-tracking analysis to establish which pads around the world were the most captivating.
Participants were shown images of 60 picturesque properties, with their eye movements tracked by AI technology.
The team then analysed the results and gave each country a score out of 100 based on "the average time spent looking at each image", as well as "the time it first took participants to look at the houses".
They found that Greece ranked top, with a 79.5 score, a fact that won't come as much of a surprise to anyone who has walked through the narrow walkways of the country's more beautiful islands, and marvelled at their brightly coloured and elegant architecture.

The sprawling Cycladic architecture found throughout the islands in the Aegean sea is a big part of what makes the country so enticing to travellers.
The iconic combination of whitewashed houses, accented by a rich blue in doors and domes found across multiple towns and villages are hard to look away from, with the patchwork of cobbled streets, steps and walkways between them making these islands unlike anywhere else.
But Greece's rich history and eclectic stylistic influences mean there's great variety in terms of what you can expect across the country, with everything from Ottoman, Venetian, and more modern Bauhaus-style structures.
In the capital Athens, for example, there is a mix of significant archaeological temples, "neoclassical mansions and massive concrete blocks of apartments," says travel site Greeka, which characterises the city's appearance as "quirky" but never boring.
