PETALING JAYA: The people can be assured of receiving aid during these trying times, says MCA president and Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

       He said stocks of basic necessities for people affected by the floods and the Covid-19 pandemic were adequate at the constituency.

       He visited the warehouse used for storing foodstuff meant to be given to people in need, which is managed by his constituency’s service centre at Dewan Gemilang Jalan Templer in Yong Peng, Johor.

       “I inspected the stocks of rice, cooking oil, flour, milk, biscuits, canned food and other necessities to be channelled to flood victims and those who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

       “I found that the supplies are sufficient even though some of them have also been distributed to flood victims beyond the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency area, like Segamat and Pagoh,” he wrote on Facebook.

       Dr Wee said some of the basic necessities had been packed into boxes while 2,500 food packs were given to those in need.

       “I will ensure that every family in need will always receive a supply of basic necessities and food during these trying times,” he added.
