The M8 in Glasgow has been closed following an accident today, on Sunday. Westbound traffic is being held up to Junction 22, according to Traffic Scotland.
The organisation reported a multi-vehicle road traffic collision at 2.08pm.
This occurred between junctions 23 and 24.
Initially, only two of four lanes between these junctions were closed.
Traffic Scotland noted that traffic was passing slowly past the scene of the accident.
Drivers have been advised to allow extra time due to delays.
Traffic Scotland said: “Please consider an alternative route and allow extra time for your journey.”
Heavy congestion has also been reported from Junction 20 of the M74.

GlasgowLive reported that a diversion for drivers was set in place on the M77 southbound, which was likely the cause of increased congestion.
