If someone were to ask you to name one of the world's wealthiest companies, you would probably say, especially if you grew up in the west, either Apple or Amazon.

       Both are indeed incredibly valuable companies.

       According to howmuch.net, the former was worth $3.29trillion (￡2.64trillion) in 2024.

       The latter, meanwhile, was valued at a relatively modest $1.94trillion (￡1.56trillion).

       Apple Inc., of course, is an American multinational technology company that is headquartered in Cupertino, California, in Silicon Valley.

       The company is best known for its consumer electronics, such as the iPhone, iPad and Mac computers, software, and services.

       It was founded in 1976 as Apple Computer Company by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.

       Jobs became known around the world for presenting new Apple products on stage, oftentimes clad in round glasses, a jumper and jeans.

       Amazon.com, Inc. was also started in America and became multinational.

       Nowadays, its a technology company engaged in e-commerce, cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.

       Amazon was founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos in Bellevue, Washington, and originally started as an online marketplace for books.

       But the company gradually expanded its offerings to include a wide range of products.

       It now has its own TV, film and audiobook and podcast streaming services.

       But there is another company that is worth more than both Apple and Amazon combined.

       Saudi Aramco was reportedly worth $6.58trillion (￡5.29trillion) in 2024.

       Officially known as the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, and also known as simply Aramco, is a majority state-owned petroleum and natural gas company, and the national oil company of Saudi Arabia.

       As of 2024, it was the fourth-largest company in the world by revenue.

       The firm is headquartered in Dhahran, and has both the world's second-largest proven crude oil reserves.

       This amounts to more than 270billion barrels - which is the equivalent of 43billion cubic metres.

       The company also boasts and largest daily oil production of all oil-producing companies.
