A man who worked at the Lakeforest Mall in Montgomery County was fatally stabbed there Monday, the county police said.

       Police on Tuesday identified the victim as Jose Alexander Maldonado, 23, of Gaithersburg. He was a T-Mobile employee at the mall, police said.

       Maldonado was found about 11 a.m. with “multiple stab wounds,” near the food court, after officers responded for a reported assault inside the mall, the police said.

       A police spokeswoman called the stabbing an isolated event.

       Maldonado died at a hospital, according to the police.

       Detectives have not yet identified a suspect, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
