A priest and multiple worshippers have reportedly been stabbed in the second horrific knife attack to hit Sydney in just 24 hours.

       An alleged knifeman walked up to Bishop Mari Emmanuel as he was preaching at The Good Shepherd Church in the Wakeley area of the Australian city on Monday and stabbed him multiple times.

       New South Wales Police said in a statement that they arrested a man who is helping officers with their enquiries.

       Four men are believed to have been injured in the alleged attack, which was transmitted inadvertently by the church's regular livestreaming of the service.
