PETALING JAYA: Malaysia can learn much from Japan on how to manage its railway industry, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said he had received a courtesy call from Takahashi Katsuhiko, the Japanese ambassador to Malaysia, and talked about land, air and maritime developments in both countries.

During the hour-long meeting, Dr Wee and Takahashi also discussed the issue of bilateral ties between Malaysia and Japan, which they agreed should be continued for mutual interest.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday (April 26), Dr Wee also said Malaysia had much to learn from Japan as it had a well-developed rail industry and could benefit from their expertise.

"I also shared with Takahashi Katsuhiko about the development of mega projects such as ECRL, RTS Link, MRT3 and other infrastructure projects that are being developed or will soon take place," he said.
