Award winners: Catalyst will honor the Hoerchst Celanese Corp., Knight-Ridder Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. with the 1996 Catalyst Award. Sheila Wellington, president of Catalyst, cites all three companies for substantially increasing their number of women managers. “We think they reflect a trend toward companies’ changing their corporate cultures so that women can advance,” she says. “One trend we’ve noticed this year is that these initiatives are no longer one-shot programs.” The awards will be given at a dinner Saturday at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
