KUALA LUMPUR: Sixty families in need here have received aid from the city police through Ops Bantu.
Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Azman Ayob said in a statement on Thursday (July 8) that food aid was distributed to the needy by all district police chiefs in the contingent.
"Aid was given out to those with disabilities, single mothers registered with the Welfare Department, those who are receiving aid from Baitulmal and those who lost their jobs during the pandemic.
"The programme will continue today, and 60 more food packages will be distributed.
"The police encourage corporate entities or non-governmental organisations to help provide aid to those in need during these trying times," he said.
