KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd has posted a net profit of RM50.69mil in the first quarter ended March 31 – a 12% increase over the previous corresponding quarter.

       In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the semiconductor services company said it reported a 13.5% year-on-year improvement in revenue to RM424.45mil.

       The improvement in revenue and net profit was mainly attributable to higher sales volume as well as improvement in average selling price, according to Unisem in the filing.

       Earnings per share for the quarter was 3.14 sen compared with 2.87 sen in the previous comparative quarter.
