KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign investors continued to be net sellers of Bursa Malaysia equities to the tune fo RM113.5mil in the holiday-shortened week ended Sept 1, 2023.
In a report, MIDF Research said the sectors that saw the most net foreign outflows were heallthcare (RM144mil), industrial products and services (RM82.2mmil) and consumer products and services (RM60.5mil).
Meanwhile, the sectors that saw the most net inflows were property (RM1143.5mil), construction (RM40.4mil) and technology (RM30mil).
Local institutions were net buyers on Bursa Malaysia for a third straight week with a net buying amount of RM191.3mil.
Local retailer were net sellers for an eighth consecutive week with net sales of RM77.8mil.
"In terms of participation, there was a strong increase in average daily trading volume (ADTV) among foreign investors by 94.3% and among retail and institutional investors by 38.4% and 44.9% respectively," said MIDF.
