PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has 19,631 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday (Aug 17), the Health Ministry reported.

       The country’s Covid-19 infections total has now reached 1,444,270.

       Selangor has the highest number of cases with 5,753 new infections.

       Sabah came in second with 2,103 new cases followed by Kedah with 1,863 cases.

       Kuala Lumpur, which is usually second highest, has 1,765 new cases.

       Cases in other states are as follows: Johor (1,309), Kelantan (1,268), Penang (1,275), Perak (1,101), Sarawak (835), Pahang (670), Melaka (623), Terengganu (498), Putrajaya (41) and Perlis (37).

       Labuan has zero new cases.
