PETALING JAYA: Maxis Bhd has appointed two new independent and non-executive directors to its board.

       The newly appointed directors are Ooi Huey Tyng (pic) and Uthaya Kumar A/L K Vivekananda, it said in filings to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

       Ooi is currently an independent director at AIG Asia Pacific Board, Pacific Century Group, Bridgetown 3 SPAC and a member of the board of governors at the Singapore-based Raffles Institution. She has previously held multiple roles in GrabPay and Visa.

       Meanwhile, Uthaya Kumar is currently an independent director at Bumi Armada Bhd and at Sri Lanka Telecom Plc.

       He was previously a senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers South-East Asia Peninsula (PwC).
