The Duke of Cambridge has enlisted the help of a number of famous faces from the world of broadcasting, entertainment and sport to announce the winners of his Earthshot Prize later this month. Sir David Attenborough, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and footballer Mo Salah are all set to be involved at the event in London, while the Duchess of Cambridge will also present an award.
The inaugural ceremony will see five winners granted £1million each to fund their innovative project to help save the environment.
The star-studded event at Alexandra Palace will be broadcast on BBC One on October 17 and is set to feature performances from Coldplay, KSI and Yemi Alade and Shawn Mendes.
The announcement comes just weeks after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended a similar event to raise awareness of the issues facing the world.
The couple delivered an impassioned speech about the benefits COVID-19 vaccines at the 24-hour Global Citizen Live event in New York.
In May, the Duke of Sussex also took part in a Vax Live event in Los Angeles, which featured US President Joe Biden as well as singers Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez.
