IPOH: Some RM27.6bil worth of projects will be proposed to the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister's Department to be included in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad (pic).
The Perak Mentri Besar said they had identified a total of 1,389 main projects, which included developing the Silver Valley Technology Park (SVTP) and completing the West Coast Expressway (WCE).
He said the SVTP would be a new industrial park in Chemor, encompassing a 1,139ha area.
"The project is expected to drive the high-technology manufacturing sector and be a catalyst for the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
"It will be developed by the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority between 2021 and 2024," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 17).
"SVTP will focus on five main high-technology manufacturing sectors, including electric and electronic; medical equipment and pharmaceutical; unmanned aerial vehicle system; smart agriculture and digital economy," he added.
On the WCE, Saarani said the high-impact project was expected to be fully completed by 2024.
"As of now, only Section 8, 9 and 10 of the expressway in the state, which costs about RM1.9bil, have been opened to the public.
"The expressway will enhance the networking and accessibility to the west coast from the north to the south of the peninsula," he added.
