SEREMBAN: Datuk Masri Razali has been appointed the new Seremban City Council Mayor, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
His appointment takes effect today.
Masri's last position was the deputy state secretary (management) and he replaces Datuk Zazali Salehudin, who goes on mandatory retirement.
The 49-year-old Masri is an International Islamic University graduate and he started his career in the civil service in 1997 as an officer at the Negri Sembilan state secretariat.
He also holds a Masters in Business Administration.
Prior to this, Masri served in the Home Ministry, the National Institute of Public Administration and the Public Service Department.
Masri is married to Datin Siti Zunaizan Sallip and the couple has five children.
Aminuddin also thanked Zazali, who was made Mayor on Jan 1, 2020, for his services.
He said it was during Zazali's tenure as Seremban Municipal Council head that it was merged with the Nilai Municipal Council to form the Seremban City Council.
