A woman at a Broward health clinic made a shocking discovery while trying to use the bathroom late last week – a camera was watching her. She wasn’t the only one secretly and illegally filmed on a cellphone placed by a medical assistant.

Jeremy Galindo Ciocon, 31, was charged Friday with four counts of video voyeurism against a 19-year-old or older.

Earlier that day, a woman was using the bathroom in the urology department at a Cleveland Clinic in Weston, 2950 Cleveland Clinic Blvd, when she discovered a cellphone pointing at her, an arrest report read.

Hidden behind a box of gloves, the cellphone was facing the toilet and recording. When she turned it in, security guards tracked the owner to Ciocon and called authorities.

Weston Police Department officers arrested him, the report read. Officers say Ciocon admitted he hid his phone in the bathroom to record women.

After going through Ciocon’s phone, officers found three more instances in the last month in which he filmed people.

A statement from the Cleveland Clinic said Ciocon was “immediately removed” and terminated.

“We are strongly committed to protecting the rights and safety of our patients, visitors and caregivers from any type of inappropriate behaviour,” the statement read.

“We are fully cooperating with law enforcement’s investigation and are also conducting our own internal review. We care deeply about patient and caregiver safety and any form of misconduct is not tolerated.” – Miami Herald/Tribune News Service
