KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM11.4bil will be set aside under Budget 2022 for the Bumiputera agenda aimed at reducing the economic disparity said Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (pic).
"Of this total, RM6.6bil will be for education facilities for Bumiputera children under Mara, UiTM, Yayasan Peneraju.
"This allocation will provide education loans, to upgrade certificates programmes to diploma apart from producing professionals among the Bumiputera in the medical, engineering and finance fields," he said when unveiling the RM322.1bil Budget 2022 in Dewan Rakyat on Friday (Oct 29).
Zafrul said that a total of RM4.8bil would be used to implement programmes to increases business finances and capacity under Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berad, Tekun and Dana Kemakmuran Bumiputera.
Apart from this, he added that RM200mil would be provided to encourage Bumiputera youths to get involved with small scale government projects.
