Police said they arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of 39-year-old James Richard Beverly last month in Silver Spring, Md.

       Tremayne Middleton Dorsey, 43, was arrested Wednesday evening in Colonial Heights, Va. He faces first-degree murder charges, Montgomery County police said. Police said Dorsey was “known to the victim and his family.”

       Dorsey’s family could not immediately be reached. It was not clear whether he had an attorney.

       Authorities allege that Dorsey forced his way into a residence, where he shot and killed Beverly. Police found the victim shortly before 9 a.m. on Nov. 30.
