THE Negri Sembilan state government has provided an alternative location for a Hindu temple in Senawang after an earlier piece of land was taken away, Malaysia Nanban reported.

State executive councillor in charge of non-Muslim affairs J. Arul Kumar, who visited the temple site, confirmed that the allocation had been approved.

The matter had earlier caused consternation among the Hindu community when it was learnt that the piece of land originally allocated for the temple had been reassigned for the construction of a mosque.

However, Arul Kumar, who is also Nilai assemblyman, said with a piece of new land allocated, the matter has been brought to a quick and satisfactory solution for all.

Arul Kumar said Paroi assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Taufek Abd Ghani, whose constituency covers the affected land in Taman Bukit Perdana, gave his full co-operation and assistance to help resolve the matter in an amicable manner.
