Kate and William's children set to attend Lambrook School

The Prince and Princess of Wales's three children have opted for non-royal names at school to help them have as normal an upbringing as possible.

Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, enrolled in Lambrook School last September after moving from their Kensington Palace home to the Windsor estate.

The royal children had used the surname Cambridge but this changed when Prince William became the Prince of Wales following the death of Queen Elizabeth last September.

The children are now known as George Wales, Charlotte Wales and Louis Wales, and their Prince and Princess titles are not used by teachers or classmates.

This is aimed at helping them feel equal to their fellow pupils.

George, Charlotte and Louis will be starting Year 6, Year 4 and Year 1 respectively this term.

George was seen looking around Eton College this summer in preparation for him to follow in his father's footsteps and attend the presitigous school when he turns 13.

The Wales's children had previously attended Thomas's in Battersea before the family made their move to Adelaide Cottage last summer.

Kate and William were said to have made the move to offer their children a more "normal" upbringing.

The school was said to be more convenient for the couple with all three children able to attend. The school grounds boasts an abundance of facilities, including a 9-hole golf course, a polo field, a bee farm and a mini Masterchef club.

In a guide by Talk Education, Lambrook is described as having a "sense of delicious freedom and fresh air. We spotted children cartwheeling on the croquet lawn, racing around with cricket bats and swinging from old tyres hanging from the trees, sporting proper rosy cheeks and a healthy outdoorsy glow.

"The school is anchored around a pristine, grand white country house, with a nursery and pre-prep on site. There’s a sense of delicious freedom and fresh air."
