PETALING JAYA: DAP has been publicly denouncing "political frogs" yet they have expressed willingness to set up a state government with such individuals.

"DAP said that they reject 'political frogs'. But at a press conference on Oct 4, they said they want to set up a new state government together with these political frogs. Very strange.

"They used the 'frogs' to wrest power, but then dropped the 'frogs' to win over votes," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Nov 9).

He also posted a photograph of a press conference on Oct 4 which was attended by Melaka DAP chairman Tey Kok Kiew (DAP candidate for Bemban) and Kerk Chee Yee (DAP candidate for Ayer Keroh) among others.

Also present at the press conference was former Melaka chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, who previously held the Sungai Udang state seat.

Idris and three other state assemblymen, namely Datuk Nor Azman Hassan, Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee and Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad had declared that they had lost confidence in the leadership of Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali as Melaka chief minister.

The press conference was held by Idris to announce the withdrawal of support for Sulaiman.

Melaka Pakatan Harapan chairman Adly Zahari held a press conference at the same venue shortly after Idris's announcement to say that they were seeking an audience with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam to inform him that Sulaiman's administration had lost the majority.

Idris is contesting in Asahan while Nor Azman is contesting in Pantai Kundor, both under the Pakatan banner in the coming state polls on Nov 20.
