Northwestern University issued a crime notice this week after more than 4,500 COVID-19 test kits were stolen on the school’s Evanston campus Monday.
The test kits belonged to Northwestern and were reported stolen Oct. 25 from a secure location in a common area at the Foster-Walker student housing complex at 1927 Orrington Avenue, police said.
Most of the stolen property was recovered from the suspects, who are Northwestern students, according to the statement.
No information about charges has been released and school officials declined to comment beyond the statement.
University police continue to investigate the theft and anyone with information is asked to contact Northwestern University Police at 847-491-3456.
