George and Charlotte ‘followed different rule’ at school enforced to deal with Covid

Throughout the pandemic, the country’s leaders have attempted to persuade Britons to abide by the various – and ever-changing – lockdown rules. But these are different in some cases for the Royal Family, due to their thorough security arrangements.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, there is just one rule the Cambridge children were exempt from at school.

In September 2020, during the second wave, she wrote in Vanity Fair: “According to one parent, the school has installed numerous Covid prevention measures and parents now have to drop children at the school gates.

“The Cambridges, however, are still able to drive their children into the school grounds.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are third and fourth in line to the throne, respectively.

They are said to be treated the same way as their peers at school.

Their royal titles are not used in the classroom, according to My London.

Instead, the children use Cambridge as their surname.

The Cambridges will spend Christmas Day in Norfolk along with members of the Middleton family, according to reports.

Royal Christmas arrangements have been dialled down this year for the second time in a row due to the emergence of the seemingly faster-spreading but milder Omicron Covid variant.

The Queen, 95, will spend Christmas Day at Windsor Castle rather than her preferred location, Sandringham.

Leading by example, Her Majesty has followed Covid rules strictly.

In April, at Prince Philip's funeral in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, the Queen sat alone in a black face mask.

Members of the family are likely hoping to mark the passing of Philip at a Service of Thanksgiving in spring 2022.

Buckingham Palace this evening, on Thursday, announced the event will take place at Westminster Abbey.
