To celebrate it, thousands of children and adults will be wearing Odd Socks. And here's why...

Odd Socks Day is a national event all about celebrating what makes someone unique.
It's set up in 2017 by the Anti-Bullying Alliance which is a group of organisations, charities and individuals who work together to try and stop bullying.
So
Anti-Bullying Week aims to raise awareness of bullying, which affected 30 per cent of children just last year, and suggest ways to tackle it.
Last year, 80 per cent of UK schools took part in Anti-Bullying Week, reaching 7.5 million young people.
This year hopes to reach more schools and help pupils facing teasing by promoting kindness.
"Kindness is more important today than it has ever been,” the ABA wrote, citing how the lockdown highlighted how 'little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us.'
This notion inspired the ‘One Kind Word’ theme for this year's Anti-Bullying Week.
When is the anti-bullying day?
Initially set up in Canada, Anti-Bullying Day is now celebrated on various dates around the world.
The UK will next celebrate Anti-Bullying Day on Wednesday, 23 February 2022.
How can I participate in Odd Socks day?
To take part all you need to do is wear odd socks to work or school.
By doing so, you'll be raising awareness of bullying with the millions of children, and thousands of parents and hundreds of workplaces.
A school pack is available on the Anti-Bullying Alliance website, which includes a book bag flyer, general flyer, odd socks day poster, a kindness pledge sheet handout and a lyric sheet for the song “One Kind Word” by Andy and the Odd Socks.
The pack also contains a 20-30 minute lesson plan for teachers, and many activities to “bring Odd Socks Day to life in your school or setting.”
The pack also offers kids the chance to win a visit from Andy and the Odd Socks – a popular band among young children in the UK and patron for the Anti-Bullying Alliance.
To have a chance of winning, you will need to share your school’s Odd Socks Day photos and videos on social media.
Adult workers can ask their workplace to participate, even if they are working from home.
