Northwestern University has received “multiple reports” of people being drugged without consent while attending recent gatherings at off-campus locations in Evanston, according to an alert issued by Northwestern University Friday afternoon.
According to the alert, “at least one of the reports was associated with a gathering believed to be organized by Northwestern students.”
An Evanston police spokesman said there is a “pending investigation into these incidents” and declined to release further details at this point in the investigation. More information may be forthcoming in the next few days, police said.
University officials did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.
The latest alert comes after Northwestern officials in late September said there were multiple aggravated assault cases on campus involving students who said they were drugged at fraternity houses.

One person reported being drugged at a gathering at 2325 Sheridan Road in Evanston, the site of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
The September alert said the university was investigating “separate, similar reports it received on Sept. 24,” and noted “both reported locations are on-campus fraternity houses.”
The September reports led to student protests and a pause in social events and official recruitment activities at fraternities that are part of the Interfraternity Council.
The school asks that anyone with information about the latest reports to contact Northwestern University Police at 847-491-3456.
If anyone suspects that they or a friend has symptoms that may indicate nonconsensual drugging, they should call 911 or go to the emergency room, according to the school’s alert.
