PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan is undergoing home quarantine after coming into contact with a Covid-19 patient.
"Following this, I did not attend the opening of the first meeting of the fourth session of the Dewan Rakyat on Monday.
"I will also not be attending the Parliament meeting for the whole week, nor will I be carrying out my official duties physically," the Energy and Natural Resources Minister said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 14).
Takiyuddin said that although his PCR tests on Sept 10 and 13 were negative, he still needed to be in quarantine until Sept 20.
"I will be carrying out my duties via hybrid (methods). Any inconvenience caused due to this development is regretted," he said.
Aside from Takiyuddin, Selangau MP Baru Bian was not at the Dewan Rakyat sitting after testing positive for Covid-19.
