MELAKA: All official government and private events will not be allowed in the state from Nov 4 to 27.

       The Melaka National Security Council said the Phase Four standard operating procedure (SOP) of the National Recovery Plan, which was updated last Sunday, barred all gatherings or social functions related to the Melaka state election, including the launching of election machinery, from Oct 25 to Nov 27.

       Also prohibited are events that could cause large gatherings in one place, which would make physical distancing that complies with the orders of the Health director-general difficult or impossible, it said in a statement.

       Apart from that, party meetings in Melaka are allowed for fully vaccinated individuals, limited to 50% of the capacity of the venue.

       Press conferences after such meetings are also allowed, subject to the SOP such as physical distancing and the wearing of masks.
