The Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex came together last week to reveal a statue in her honour. But before the ceremony took place, the two brothers bonded over Diana’s keepsakes and notes, a source said.
Speaking to Us Weekly, the source suggested the purported rift between William and Harry could be in the process of healing.
They said: “William and Harry spent the morning before the statue unveiling looking through old keepsakes, notes from Diana, and bonding.
“They have absolutely turned a new page in their relationship and have started the healing.
“Everyone around them was thrilled to see how close they were on the day of the statue unveiling.”
According to one royal expert, Prince Harry seemed particularly nervous, likening him to a “bundle of energy”.
Pod Save the Queen host Ann Gripper discussed the two brothers’ performance during the poignant event with Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers.
Ms Gripper said: “You can imagine Harry would have been feeling tricky about it. He would have known he was in the spotlight, I mean apart from anything else he has talked about the trauma he has experienced through the sound of photographs and that kind of thing.
“And it's obviously an emotional day anyway, anything connected with his mother will be.
