KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 65 premises were ordered to close for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Saturday (Aug 14), says Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
The Senior Minister (Security) said the compliance operation task force conducted 80,981 inspections including at 1,711 factories, 16,500 business premises, 471 construction sites and 236 workers hostels.
"Compound notices were issued to 174 individuals while nine others were remanded for not adhering to Covid-19 SOP," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 15).
On Ops Benteng, Hishammuddin said 19 undocumented migrants were detained while three land vehicles were seized on Saturday.
"Authorities also conducted 918 roadblocks nationwide," he added.
He also said that 520 individuals arrived in Malaysia on Saturday and were placed under mandatory quarantine.
"Cumulatively, 270,380 individuals have returned to Malaysia since July 24 last year.
"9,445 individuals are still undergoing quarantine, 256,947 individuals have been discharged while 3,988 were sent to hospitals for treatment," he said.
