KLANG: A sports utility vehicle (SUV) belonging to a Customs officer was believed to have deliberately been set on fire at a car wash at Taman Pandamaran Permai here.

       It is learnt that the car was sent there for polishing yesterday.

       Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre chief Zulkifar Jaffas said the vehicle was completely destroyed while the car wash sustained damage to its roof.

       “No one was injured and we believe this is a case of mischief by fire.

       “A fire engine and eight personnel were dispatched to the scene,” he said, adding that they received a call at around 11.03am.

       South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong when contacted confirmed investigations were underway.

       “We have some clues about the case. The car was the same vehicle that was splashed with paint recently,” he said.
