A SUSPECT in the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence moaned he cannot be moved to an open prison after failing to pay ￡90,000 he made from a ￡3million drugs plot.

       Jamie Acourt, 45, who got nine years for supplying cannabis, was one of five held after Stephen, 18, was killed in Eltham, South East London, in 1993.

       Acourt's brother, Neil Acourt, was arrested over Stephen's murder and was jailed for more than six years for his part in the ￡3million drugs plot.

       The plot saw some 750kg of cannabis resin moved between London and South Shields, Tyne and Wear.

       Acourt was ordered to pay up his ill-gotten gains — which have since increased to ￡95,000 due to interest — but didn’t.

       Due for release in November, he told Westminster magistrates it had scuppered a cushy jail move.

       He said: ""I'm happy to take the default sentence because I have no way of paying the money."

       The case was adjourned.
