KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Malaysia Berhad, the first highway headquarters to be activated as an integrated public vaccination centre (PPV), recorded over 16,000 vaccine recipients.
They include both Malaysians and foreigners in less than two weeks since it began operations on July 26.
In a statement, PLUS said the PPV was made possible through its partnership with medical advisory partner Primer Cherang, together with ProtectHealth, the implementer of private medical practitioner in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).
Its managing director Datuk Azman Ismail said by offering its headquarters as a PPV, PLUS hoped more people would be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
“Hopefully with this move, retail sectors will be able to resume so that small businesses can be revived and our country can work towards economic and social recovery,” he said.
PICK Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin made a working visit to the PPV yesterday and dsif he was pleased with the centre’s progress and efficiency.
Earlier, PLUS said the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force had selected Persada PLUS headquarters as one of 14 public immunisation venues to accelerate the dispensing of vaccines through Operation Surge Capacity in an effort to ensure all adults would receive at least one dose of vaccine by Aug 1. — Bernama
