PUTRAJAYA: Covid-19 test will no longer be required for certain categories of travellers before departing to Malaysia and upon arrival, said Khairy Jamaluddin.

The Health Minister said this requirement would no longer be needed for Malaysian and foreign travellers under three categories, including those who were 13 years of age and above who were fully vaccinated.

The exemption was also given to travellers who had been infected with Covid-19 within six to 60 days from the date of recovery before departing for Malaysia.

"Travellers who are 12 years old and below also need not undergo a test, irrespective of their vaccination status," he said on Wednesday (April 27).

However, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers who were 17 years old and below were required to do a pre-departure test and also supervised RTK-Antigen test within 24 hours upon arrival.

Quarantine for these groups of travellers were not required.

Partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers who were 18 years old and above would have to do both pre-departure RT-PCR test, supervised RTK-Antigen test upon arrival and undergo five-day quarantine.
