JOHOR BARU: Perikatan Nasional has fielded 41 new faces out of the 56 seats it will be contesting in the upcoming Johor state election.
Its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) would contest in 33 seats, PAS in 15 seats and Gerakan in eight seats.
"The candidates are a combination of those coming from various backgrounds, including professionals such as doctors, dentists, lawyers as well as retirees.
"A total of 15 of the candidates are those that have previously contested in other elections while the rest are new faces," he said.
He said this in a press conference after announcing Perikatan's candidates for the Johor state election.
