Staying on your very own private island is the stuff of dreams but is often only a reality for the elite. One spot, however, aims to make this dream a reality offering a slice of upper class living for a meagre £40 a night.
A deserted island located off the west coast of Guernsey provides a getaway like no other. Here, a lone house sits on this deserted region with the island’s only habitable structure up for grabs. The island of Lihou is operated by the Lihou Charitable Trust and is offering this unique experience for anyone brave or “boujee” enough.

The island was once part of a busy seaweed harvesting industry, however today, it remains completely unoccupied.
The ultimate idyllic getaway can only be accessed via a rocky passage when the tide is low for only two weeks each month.
This off-the-grid opportunity means a stay on an island with no internet and absolutely zero shops or amenities.
Despite its eerie quietness, a stay here offers an outdoor enthusiast's ultimate dream with a host of activities and sights to keep you busy.

And what the island lacks in amenities, it certainly makes up for in wildlife and scenery.
Lihou offers exploration among the region’s ancient priory ruins including a natural formation which appears at low tide known as the Venus Pool.
This secluded spot is ideal for wild swimming which has become popular with visitors in the summer, offering a 41 meters long, 5 meters wide and 2.5 meters deep water oasis.
Birdwatchers will also be in their element here as the island is home to roosting and nesting waders and gulls including also many other migratory birds.
Renting a night on this island’s only structure does come with its challenges though including having to heave your own luggage up a steep road for roughly a quarter of a mile while also dealing with the approaching tide.
And for those who’ve come accustomed to a good Netflix and chill scenario will also be in for a shock as there are no takeaway services including no internet.
Instead, guests are urged to pack away their mobiles and laptops and soak up the opportunity of being completely deserted.
A stay at Lihou House allows for a minimum of 10 people to stay here and is priced at only £40 per person.
