SWAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday said the ‘imported’ federal government was formed under a foreign conspiracy, so the PTI workers would continue exercising their democratic right of fighting against it for its ouster.

       He also declared Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his cabinet members incompetent and said they had no plans to stabilise economy and grabbed power to protect their wealth obtained through illegal means, including money laundering.

       The chief minister was addressing a ceremony held here to inaugurate the newly-established Police Command and Control Centre at the District Police Office. He also gave away Rs5 million grant cheques each to the tehsil bar associations of Matta, Bahrain, Khawazakhela and Kabal, that of Rs10 million to Swat District Bar Association and that of Rs20 million to the Peshawar High Court Bar Association, Mingora, at the Malakand commissioner’s office.

       Mr Mahmood said his government would protect the rights of the people of the province.

       He said the PTI activists had always followed the Constitution and would actively join the party’s upcoming anti-government march on Islamabad.

       The chief minister criticised the ‘imported’ federal government for subjecting participants of the peaceful Azadi March to the ‘worst kind’ of violence.

       He said the Constitution had granted the people the right to free movement and the PTI workers would exercise that right.

       Mr Mahmood said the provincial cabinet would decide today (Thursday) about the proposal to move the Supreme Court against the Shehbaz Sharif government.

       He said the imported government had lodged three cases against him but he, like other PTI workers, would continue working for the people’s development.

       The chief minister said the federal government had no policy for the stability of national economy.

       He said his government had provided Rs640 million funds for gas supply to different areas of Swat but the money would be spent after the ouster of the Shehbaz Sharif government.

       Mr Mahmood claimed that PML-N leader Amir Muqam had tried to join the PTI but the bid was foiled by the party workers, who weren’t ready to accept ‘such people’.

       He said a mega project would be initiated to address the issue of drinking water in Mingora city by the end of June.

       The chief minister attended a briefing on the Police Command and Control Centre and learned about the digitisation of the local police stations.

       The officials also informed him about the facilities at the centre, including police access service, token automation system, police stations record management system, media monitoring system, hotel watch, e-ticketing, women safety app and CDR system.
