PORT DICKSON: A 24-year-old technician who allegedly trespassed into the house of a 28-year-old woman and outraged her modesty claimed trial to both charges at the Magistrate's Court here.

James Wilson pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him before magistrate V. Vanita on Tuesday (March 8).

Wilson was charged with committing the offences between 5.59am and 6.10am on March 6 at a house in Taman Ria near here.

He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using force with intent to outrage the victim's modesty.

Offenders can be jailed up to 10 years or fined or whipped or given any of the two punishments upon conviction.

He was also charged under Section 448 of the Penal Code for house trespass, which provides a jail term of up to three years or a fine of up to RM5,000 or both.

Vanita then allowed Wilson to be released on a RM6,000 bail and set March 22 for re-mention.

On Monday (March 7), Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said the suspect was allegedly drunk when the incident happened.

He said the suspect entered the victim's house through the front door and went into a room where she was asleep. Her seven-year-old child was also in the house.

When the suspect began fondling her, the startled woman started screaming. The suspect then ran away.

The victim then called her brother-in-law who arrived a short while later and detained the suspect.

Supt Aidi Sham said upon being questioned, the suspect claimed he had entered the wrong house.

He said checks showed that the suspect had also been charged and sentenced for outraging the modesty of another woman in 2016.
