KOTA TINGGI: Two policemen managed to escape with minor injuries after their vehicle crashed and was overturned at KM76, Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing, here.
Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said that the incident occurred at about 9.50am when the duo was heading back to Johor Baru after an escorting task.
"The driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle when passing through a corner.
"Initial investigations revealed that the road was wet and slippery due to the ongoing rainy weather.
"However, both the driver and passenger, aged 32 and 42, only suffered minor injuries," he said in a statement here on Thursday (March 7).
The case was being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving, which carries a fine of not more than RM10,000 and imprisonment of up to a year.
Meanwhile, Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat stated that the duo had been allowed to return home following treatment at the Kota Tinggi Hospital.
