PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines will assist a humanitarian organisation by delivering donated oxygen concentrators to Indonesia at no cost.

       The United Sikhs Malaysia handed over its first shipment of 10 oxygen concentrators to MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd for its “Help Indonesia Breathe” project.

       These oxygen concentrators were then transported by MASkargo to Jakarta on a flight that left from Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday.

       This project is the first of a planned shipment of 50 oxygen concentrators costing RM190,000.

       The concentrators will be used at the Covid-19 Care Centre set up in the Tangerang Selatan area by Yayasan Sosial Guru Nanak to lessen the burden of the overstretched healthcare system and help save as many lives as possible.

       United Sikhs previously secured 100 concentrators for India during the peak of its Covid-19 crisis and has been running Covid-19 Care operations in Malaysia, too.

       In Malaysia, the organisation distributes oxygen via oxygen bags and concentrators to assist patients regardless of their backgrounds.

       “We can only battle this pandemic when everybody is taken care of. We have to think global, to bring things to normal,” said United Sikhs operations director Mandeep Singh in a press release.

       MASkargo Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh said they were happy to be part of the humanitarian movement alongside United Sikhs for the people in Indonesia through its counterpart Yayasan Sosial Guru Nanak.
