KOTA KINABALU: Are you interested in seeing what Sabah head of state Tun Juhar Mahiruddin can do with paintbrushes?

If you are, a special exhibition on his artworks done mainly during last year’s movement control order (MCO) is on and they can be viewed via https://www.facebook.com/OfficialMuziumSabah/.

This special edition virtual exhibition is held in conjunction with Juhar’s 68th birthday.

A total of 50 art pieces are on display, where the artworks are themed around nature and countryside living.

Various techniques of paintings using different materials such as watercolours, acrylic, oil paints and pastel oil are showcased.

Juhar’s artworks include titles like kampung (village), lone sailor, misty, paradise garden, rindu (miss) and sunset sailboat.

Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin said during the virtual launch of the expedition that the programme is aimed at increasing awareness and appreciation towards art.

“It is also a way to expose our community to the creative industry,” he said.

Juhar has been known to be fond of creating art and playing musical instruments among other creative activities.

However, this is the first time that the public will be able to view some of his masterpieces.
