K-POP girl group Twice member Jeongyeon has suspended all her events due to her panic disorder, reported China Press.

JYP Entertainment announced the suspension after a discussion with the singer and her group members in order for her to recuperate from her panic and psychological disorder.

The entertainment company reiterated that they prioritised the singer’s well-being and the decision was made based on her doctor’s recommendations.

Jeongyeon is the second Twice member to suspend all events due to psychological disorder.

In 2019, Mina stopped attending events due to a panic attack while on stage.

Early last year, Jeongyeon also stopped attending events temporarily only to join the group six months later to perform their hit song Alcohol-free on stage.

However, fans realised that her performance was not up to par and she looked anxious on stage.

       > Hong Kong singer-actress Joyce Cheng revealed that she learned about finance management the hard way when she was once left with only HK$26 (RM14) in her bank account, reported China Press.

The 34-year-old said the incident taught her a valuable lesson in managing her finances and she started learning to spend her fortune wisely.

This is despite her mother, the late comedienne Lydia Shum, leaving a handsome inheritance of about HK$60mil (RM32.68mil) when she died in 2008 due to liver cancer.

However, Cheng could only withdraw HK$20,000 a month before she reached 35 because Shum feared that she might use up all the inheritance.

Although Cheng is now living in the luxury house left by Shum, she had asked her maids and driver to spend thriftily.

       > The Chinese Olympic Committee has urged businesses not to misuse their Chinese athletes’ names to register for a trademark, reported Sin Chew Daily.

This was following the discovery that the name of the Chinese diver and Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Quan Hong Chan was being misused for trademark registration without prior consent from the owner.

It was found that Hong Chan’s name had been used to register for a trademark in several categories such as food, apparel and daily necessities a total of 15 times.

Separately, the name of Chinese swimmer Wang Shun had been illegally used for trademark registration a total of 53 times.

Wang Shun had won gold in the 200m individual medley event.

The Chinese Olympic Committee has urged businesses to stop the practice as the athletes could take legal action against them.
