KOTA KINABALU: Two men were hurt following a fall while they were on a paraglider at Mount Kinabalu.
The Malaysians had earlier scaled the mountain prior to their paragliding activity early yesterday.
During the incident, their paraglider fell midway and the men landed on their knees at the Summit Trail, some 7.5km from their starting point, at around 7am.
State Fire and Rescue Department officers received a distress call about half an hour later.
“A group of rescuers made up of firemen and mountain guides reached the accident location at about 9.30am,” said a Fire Department operations room officer.
It was learnt that one of the victims could not walk on his own due to his injuries and had to be carried down the mountain on a stretcher.
However, the second man was believed to be unhurt.
