AN activist who has been participating in community relief efforts for years found himself in a cruel twist of fate after the roof of his home in Penang was blown away, reported Harian Metro.
Noor Hasni Saad, 57, is now himself a victim in need of help.
He said the storm struck his housing estate at 11am on Monday when he was preparing for the lunch rush at his restaurant in Butterworth.
“I noticed that the sky had turned dark and the wind was extremely strong. Soon after, my children called and asked me to get home immediately.
“Upon reaching home, I saw that the entire roof of my house was gone. Most of the items in the house were badly damaged or destroyed,” he added.
Noor Hasni said it was fortunate that both his child and grandchild, who were at home at the time, escaped unharmed.
