KUALA LUMPUR: An Immigration Department raiding team broke down a wall at a brothel in Jalan Silang here and detained seven foreigners, including five women.
The women comprised three Indonesians and two Indian nationals. A Nepalese worker and a Myanmar national, who was a customer, were the other two detained.
Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said some of the women and customers were hiding in secret rooms and passageways during the raid on Wednesday.
“Immigration personnel had to break down a wall at the premises as the workers would not open the doors,” he said in a statement.
Initial investigations revealed that the prostitutes charged between RM30 and RM60 per session for their services, he added.
“Each woman serves 10 to 12 customers daily and more during the weekends,” he said, adding that the brothel operated from 9am to 9pm.
Khairul Dzaimee said each woman was also charged a daily fee of RM25 for a room, condoms, tissues and lubricant.
“The fees must be settled with the caretaker of the premises at the end of every working day,” he added.
Among the offences committed by those detained were not having identification documents, overstaying and violating requirements for passes, he said.
“The foreigners detained have been brought to the immigration depot in Semenyih,” he added.
Meanwhile, in Kota Kinabalu, a suspected drug syndicate had just started its business in the city when four of its members were nabbed.
Three men and a woman were arrested in separate police raids around the city on Wednesday.
Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said in the first raid, a 23-year-old man was detained in Taman Milek, Phase 2, here with what was believed to be 68.31g of cannabis on him.
Later, a 28-year-old man was arrested at a house in Lido Avenue near the city, where drugs weighing 39.55g were seized.
“We later arrested a man and a woman, aged 29 and 30, from a house in Millennium Court near the city, with 211.6g of drugs confiscated,” ACP Mohd Zaidi said.
