       King Charles has a secret political podcast passion that has now been revealed, Alastair Campbell has claimed.

       On the podcast, ‘The Rest is Politics’, hosted by relentless Remainer campaigner Alastair Campbell and former Tory leadership candidate Rory Stewart - the pair revealed the claim during an episode released on February 7.

       Speaking to his co-host, Alistair Campbell claimed that the monarch has listened to their podcast in the past. He said: “I do know from sources close to the King, I do not know if it is every week, but I know he has certainly been a listener to the podcast at times.”

       He then turned his attention to the listeners, adding: “If he is listening, then we both on behalf of all of our listeners in all parts of the world, wish him the very best.”

       'The Rest Is Politics' aims to lift the lid on the secrets of Westminster, offering an insider's view on politics at home and abroad, as claimed by the podcast hosts.

       Talking about his reaction to King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, Rory Stewart said: “Obviously very sad. He is somebody I admire enormously and like very much. Anybody who has somebody your close to diagnosed with cancer, it’s very worrying.”

       King Charles smiled to crowds and well-wishers as he travelled from London to Sandringham, by helicopter, with Queen Camilla on Friday 6 where he will rest and recuperate.

       The King is undergoing treatment for the disease but aides have rightfully not diclosed the details of the hospital where he is receiving out-patient care.

       Buckingham Palace announced the news of the diagnosis on February 5 in a statement, following his discharge from The London Clinic, where the King stayed for a procedure on his enlarged prostate.

       The statement revealed the King was grateful for the medical team’s “swift intervention” and he is “wholly positive” about his treatment.

       Buckingham Palace’s statement also added: “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”

       Since King Charles’s diagnosis, wider Royal Family members, including his wife, Queen Camilla are stepping up for royal engagements and meeting with the public.

       Meanwhile Princess Kate continues to recover from her planned abdominal surgery, and is now resting at home after a 14-day stay in the London Clinic. Prince Edward and Princess Anne are also taking on royal engagements in the absense of King Charles and Kate, the Princess of Wales.
